Chat, whispers and Discord
Downstairs in the Night House the lamps stay lit till dawn. Chat is where the city talks; a small chat window also follows you on every page.
• The Counting House: buying, selling and swapping. See Trade chat rules.
• The Music Hall: roleplay. Stay in character.
• The Crypt: your coven's private room.
• The Confessional: your whispers.
Messages can be up to 450 characters. React with fangs, blood, fire or grim; reply to a message to quote it; edit or delete your own message within two minutes. Share cards for your gear, familiars, Arena fights, titles, Codex entries and more. Chat settings let you choose sounds, mute rooms, hide arrival lines and turn on a word filter. Search covers the last 30 days.
• /w Name message: whisper. /r message replies to your last whisper.
• /me does something: an action.
• /general, /trade, /rp and /coven send to a room.
• /roll and /flip for dice and coins; in the Music Hall /roll d20 or /roll 2d6+1.
• /afk, /brb, /busy and /back set an away note.
• /ignore ID and /unignore ID.
The Forums track what you've read for 14 days, with Mark all read. Like a post with fangs (one each) and follow topics to hear about replies.
• The Red Room, Counting House and Music Hall are mirrored both ways with Discord. Only linked vampires can speak in the game from Discord, and every game rule applies there. Staff chat, booths and whispers never leave the game.
• Turn on DM me on Discord and, while you're away, you'll get a direct message for replies in topics you follow, forum mentions, new Mail (with a Reply button) and whispers you missed (delivered as Mail).
• From coven level 10 your coven gets its own private channel. See Covens.

The house gramophone plays one record at a time for the whole Night House, about three minutes each. Anyone may pay to put on one of the house records (20 gold per level, at least 100, more when the queue is long); event and Opal Shop records play only for their owners. One waiting record per patron. Three votes from other listeners lift the needle. Press Listen to hear it.Tales and house nights
Storytellers run tales in the Music Hall: /join the party (up to six), and when the tale calls for it, roll a check like /check str 14. Your build gives a small bonus; your level doesn't matter. Tales are for the story only, with no rewards. Staff also hold house nights (gatherings, tale nights, poetry slams, trivia, gramophone nights) on the Event Calendar; ask to be reminded and you'll get a notice when the doors open.Whispers
Whisper with /w Name in chat or from a profile. Whispers reach vampires who are online (seen in the last 10 minutes) and are kept for 7 days. If they are offline, you are offered to send it as Mail instead. Choose who may whisper you (everyone, friends and coven, or no one) under Account, Chat. Anyone you ignore can't whisper you.Mail and forums
