Housing
Every vampire needs somewhere to lie down before the Pall thins. You start in the Common Lair, a free shared room in the Underbelly. When you have the gold, the Estate Agent sells homes of your own; visit yours from your Lair.
• Lodging room: from 15,000 gold
• Flat: from 150,000 gold
• Townhouse: from 1,500,000 gold
• Mansion: from 15,000,000 gold
Prices rise as homes of each kind are bought up, to as much as four times the base. The first four weeks of rates are included; after that a home costs 1% of its base price a week, and you can pay up to twelve weeks ahead. If your rates run out you get a week's grace, then the home is released. Selling, or losing a home, returns 40% of what you paid.
As more vampires play, new catacomb homes open in the Undercroft, beneath the city: rooms on Ossuary Row, flats on Vault Lane and crypt houses on Crypt Walk.
• Kennel space for your familiars: +1, +2, +4 or +6 slots.
• A bigger Lair chest (see below).
• A mansion makes you a Peer of the High Court, a title you keep for good.
