Wardrobe and dyes
The Wardrobe (Lair → Wardrobe, or the Wardrobe link beside your equipped gear in My Lair) changes how your gear looks: in the Arena, the Ossuary, battle replays, the coven hall and on your portrait. It never changes what your gear does: power, stats, grade and durability stay the real item's.
• Weapons take only looks of their own kind and build: a sword wears sword looks, a two-handed axe two-handed axe looks, a dual-wield dagger dual-wield dagger looks.
• You can't wear the look of gear above your level (or Paragon gear above your Paragon rank).
• A new look costs gold by the look's level: five durability points' worth of repairs at that level (about 10,000 gold at level 25, 60,000 at level 100, 220,000 at level 275). Going back to the piece's own look is free.
• The mirror shows you in the look before you pay.
• On your paper doll a piece in another look shows that look, with a small mark; bags, shops and trades always show the real item.
• Cloth and trim take the dye's colour outright.
• Metal takes the dye's hue but keeps its own shine and shading, so steel still looks like steel.
• The glow and the edges show your gear's tier and never change.
• Plain looks (below level 30) have no trim to dye.
• Taking a dye off is free (the dye was spent). Dyes stay on a piece when you change its look.
Twelve dyes are brewed by Alchemists. Six are rare and only found: Pumpkin Orange (the Pumpkin King's trick or treat), Yule Silver (the Crimson Yule's nightly gift), Blood Moon Red (the Blood Moon Festival), Sugar Pink (striking the Spun-Sugar Colossus), Thrice-Moon Pearl (striking a moon horror) and Sovereign Black (striking any colossus or moon horror). Each night you claim a festival's gift, or take your first swing at a boss, there's a chance of a dye: one or two of the festival dyes, a single moon or Sovereign dye. A vampire who turns up every night of a festival has about an even chance of enough for a full set (12 dyes); the moon dyes take a year of moons, and Sovereign Black is the rarest of all. Dyes stack in your bags and can be traded, sold on the Market and kept in the coven bank.
Your collection
Every weapon and armour piece you have ever owned adds its look to your collection, for good: bought at the Armoury or the Black Market, won on the Market, crafted, found while hunting, traded, given to you, or handed over by your coven to keep. Selling it later doesn't take the look away. Pieces only lent to you by your coven don't count; they are the coven's.Changing a look
• Pick a piece you are wearing, then any look you've collected for the same slot: a helm takes helm looks, boots take boot looks.• Weapons take only looks of their own kind and build: a sword wears sword looks, a two-handed axe two-handed axe looks, a dual-wield dagger dual-wield dagger looks.

Dyes
Alchemists brew dyes from gatherers' goods (herbs, bone, ore, soul dust and the canal's leeches and silver). Each dye colours one channel of one piece and is used up:• Cloth and trim take the dye's colour outright.
• Metal takes the dye's hue but keeps its own shine and shading, so steel still looks like steel.
• The glow and the edges show your gear's tier and never change.
• Plain looks (below level 30) have no trim to dye.
