I'm a relatively new snake on the scene. Jormungandr and Quetzalcoatl and the others were already well established here on Earth when I was born. By the time I got powerful enough that the humans would worship me like that, Christianity and the other big religions moved in and unseated any religion that I could have worked with. So, now I wander the Earth as a traveling salesman, waiting for the inevitable breakdown of society when I will once more have the opportunity to insert myself as a god.
